Vestigial Modes of Time Measurement

Another summer draws to a close.

Fall is really my favorite time of year. For some reason, the changes in the weather, the atmosphere, they fuel me. My inspiration, my thinking in general. Memories of movies like 'The Crow' and any of the medieval themed movies I watched from age 8-18 surface, for reasons unknown to me. I've considered myself a true Smashing Pumpkins fan for the past four years, but this fall, I seem to be diving into them even more than usual. It might seem odd, being that autumn is the prelude to the wilting of winter, but for me, I think fall embodies the power of youth. Which is good because for a couple of months it's a little easier to get lost inside imaginative pursuits, instead of dwelling incessantly on the questions and concerns my rapidly adultifying life slings at me. I want to thank everyone who's helping me smile, outwardly, more during the latter part of this year. I love you all and I'm looking forward to the fun and games that will undoubtedly and frequently intersperse the hard work I am excited to put into this school year.

I raise my glass (or aluminum can at the moment, actually) to you all. See you out there.
